Sports Betting

These days there are some really great programs available on the internet to assist sports betting enthusiasts in making the soundest picks possible. Do not get me wrong — betting is, and always will be, a gamble. But you can improve your accuracy if you keep the following pointers in mind when choosing a program to help you make those bets.

1.
You are going to suffer losses from time to time. but it is important that you feel secure with the betting system you choose. Therefore, it should come with a guarantee that will make you feel more secure. That guarantee should be offered without any loss of money to you, and with no excuses from the program offerer if you are not completely satisfied.

2.
The program should be easy to use. If you are already a professional gambler, you probably do not need the assistance of a sports gambling system to improve your accuracy. More than likely, you are an average person who enjoys sporting events, and should be able to use the system with no prior sports knowledge or betting experience needed.

3.
The creator of the program should be qualified and able to provide a history of success in the field. They should have a successful history of sports betting, and preferably an education in the field of statistics which would enable them to set up databases and analyze the input effectively.

4.
You should be able to use the program for any major sport, i.e. both major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association.

5.
Ratings and rankings are available online through marketplaces such as Clickbank. High gravity and consistent popularity are a necessity. Additionally, testimonials should be immeidately available from satisfied customers of the product.

6.
The betting system should require nothing but straight wagers; rather than progressive betting, parlays, arbitrage, betting on both sides of the line or any other gimmicks or, of course, anything unethical or illegal.

7.
It should be operable from any part of the world and offer one-on-one support with very little investment.

8.
The system should not require betting on every single game in any one sport, or betting on “favorites” or “underdogs.” Rather it should involve only betting on particular games that the system calculates to have high chances of success.

The fact is that over 90 percent of sport bettors fail to make a living from betting. Many aimlessly spend away their hard-earned cash because they have no real strategy. While I cannot personally recommend sports betting as a substitute for other home business opportunities, if it is an interest you should be able to make informed decisions about wagering systems on the market today.

Melissa Burton is a successful home business entrepreneur, owner of www.mykidsinheritance.com. For additional information on her recommendation for a legitimate sports betting program, which also happens to be the #1 rated product on Clickbank, please visit SportsBettingChamp.

The second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes have a great shot at improving their overall record to 3-0 this weekend, as they are set to host the Ohio Bobcats this Saturday in Columbus.

The Buckeyes come into the game off an impressive win over Miami last week, as they took home a 36-24 win in their first real test of the season.

After opening the season with a win over Wofford, Ohio fell to Toledo 20-13 at home to drop to 1-1 on the year.

If you are interested in betting on the game this weekend, the current college football lines have the Buckeyes listed as 30.5-point favorites over the Bobcats this Saturday.

The Buckeyes got another strong performance out of quarterback Terrelle Pryor, who once again showed why he is a legit threat to win the Heisman this season. Pryor finished with 233 yards passing, including a nice 18-yard pass to Brandon Saine for a score, but was also very effective with his feet, as he finished with 113 rushing yards and another touchdown.

The Buckeyes could have easily won this game by a lot more than they did, as they were forced to kick five field goals.

The Buckeyes were a little shaky on special teams, as they allowed an 88-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to Lamar Miller and then later gave up a 79-yard punt return for a score to Travis Benjamin. The defense, however, played a huge role in the win last weekend, as the Buckeyes defense forced four turnovers and only allowed the Hurricanes 13 points outside of the two long returns.

The Bobcats really struggled to do much of anything on offense in the loss to Toledo, as they managed just 183 yards of total offense. The majority of the yards came in the passing game, as the Bobcats finished with just 46 rushing yards last week.

Ohio will have to do a much better job at protecting the football against the Buckeyes, as they turned the ball over four times against Toledo, including three interceptions from quarterback Boo Jackson. The only touchdown for the Bobcats came on a 35-yard pass from Jackson to wideout Riley Dunlop.

Looking at the Odds

It is never easy predicting games with such huge spreads, so I want to come out and say I am not a big fan of betting on this game. I don’t care how bad Ohio is; it is never easy beating your opponent by 30-plus points.

The last time these two teams met was in 2008. Ohio State was favored by 33 points but only managed to win the game by a score of 26-14 and actually trailed in the game after three quarters of play.

If you are set on placing a bet on this game, my advice would be to take Ohio and the 30.5 points, but I could honestly see this game going either way. My final score prediction is Ohio State 38, Ohio 13.

Last month ESPN announced its 2010 college football commentating team. In that lineup was former Notre Dame and NFL star Tim Brown.

According to the ESPN release, this season Brown will serve as analyst on ESPN’s 3D college football broadcasts. Brown can also be seen as a college football analyst on another outlet for which he also appears as a celebrity endorser.

Brown appears in numerous videos on a website that offers sports wagering, including college football, while also showing up in promotional materials for the website in online ads and this current direct mail ad campaign for the 2010 football season:

His image is also found on the “join” page of the gambling website.

Online sports wagering is illegal in the United States.

Brown’s association with ESPN despite his connection to an illegal sports wagering website is ironic considering ESPN’s actions regarding an endorsement deal of another college football commentator on its roster.

Three weeks ago ESPN publicly struck down an endorsement deal between ESPN college football sideline reporter Jenn Brown and MillerCoors. ESPN had previously agreed upon the deal but later reversed its stance. At the time, ESPN did not give a reason on the record for the move.

As for Tim Brown, I’ve got an email into ESPN management inquiring about their stance on the former college and NFL player’s association with illegal sports wagering.

The NFL is truly the most popular sport in the United States. There are many reasons for this but that is not what is important. What is important because the NFL is so popular and tempting to wager on that many fans will not wait till opening day in September to start their football betting. Many fans will start betting in NFL games as soon as the NFL preseason starts. It is important preseason or not that you follow a football betting system.

Now if you are one those who loves the NFL so much that you will probably start betting in the preseason then there are a few tings you need to understand. Betting NFL preseason is very different than betting regular season games. We all know these are exhibition games where many unknown players are getting large amounts of play so the coaching staff can decide the fate of the player. This scares some people away from betting because they are not familiar with the unknown players. You can still make money on the preseason games but you must change your handicapping approach.

In the regular season the philosophy is that the best team shall win the games. This may not apply in preseason ball. When making football picks you need to research and discover which teams put more emphasis on winning and which teams traditionally fail to win preseason games. Let me give you an example.

Coach Jack Del Rio of the Jacksonville Jaguars is 18-10 straight up and 17-11 against the spread in preseason. Unfortunately last year in 2009, the Jags were just 1-3 straight up but only lost by a total combined 5 points in those 3 losses. Since Del Rio has been coaching the Jaguars they have always played well and usually win their preseason games. As a dog in the preseason the Jaguars are nearly perfect. Factor in that the Jaguars lost and failed to cover the last 4 games of the 2009 regular season makes them an interesting team to look at when the 2010 preseason starts.

To some coaches the preseason is about starting a winning streak and creating a winning atmosphere. Other coaches will lose the game simply because they are determined in playing weak unknown talent rather then make a few simple player adjustments to win the game. It comes down to just how important is it for a certain coaching staff to win a preseason game or to play their unknown players regardless if they can win or not.

New team coaches usually are eager to get that first win. Many times a new coach will make the first preseason game a priority to win in order to start a winning mentality. We have 3 teams with new coaches this coming 2010 season. The Washington Redskins with Mike Shanahan, the Seattle Seahawks with Pete Carroll and at last the Buffalo Bills with Chan Gailey. Look for these new coaches to make winning that first preseason a priority over everything else.

In addition to the standard Super Bowl betting lines which account for the winner and point spread there are also numerous other types of Super Bowl betting lines that you can wager on. Indeed, there is no end to the multiitude of sports wagering permutations, and the Super Bowl betting lines are no exception to this rule. Of course it is always recommended that you are responsible when dealing with wagering- after all money does not grow on trees. However for millions of people it is a fun excercise and adds to the thrill and excitement of the famous big Sunday game.

First let us define what Super Bowl betting lines mean (or in general)- it is when a match between two teams or atheltes (or “sides”) is handicapped by a bookmaker. The bookmaker uses his skills, data, and motivations to create the handicap, which explains why Super Bowl betting lines vary from one bookie to another. For example, for Super Bowl betting lines, if the bookmaker determines that one side should have a 5.5 point side better than the opposing team, we can wager that the favored team will win by more than 5.5 points. Of course, we can also pick the opponent to lose by no more than 5.5 points or win the match. Standard Super Bowl betting lines include 1st half Super Bowl betting lines and the moneylines.

However, other proposition bets are 1st Quarter, 2nd Quarter, 3rd Quarter, 4th Quarter, Total Points Scored by the home team, Total Points Scored by the visiting team, first team to score, last team to score, last team scores to win game, will there be a score in the last two minutes of the 1st half and other types of propositons, all much more risky than wagering on the Super Bowl betting lines. Big-time risk takers bet on propisitions instead on the Super Bowl betting lines because the reward may be greater. Although nothing is certain in the sports wagering world (after all how fun would that be?) standard Super Bowl betting lines are more simple to wager on, especially if you have good system. One system that makes a lot of waves is made by John Morrision; it’s called SportsBettingChamp and Morrison provides users with NFL picks.

Morrison has a 63% winning percentage, and also has a guarantee if you do not like the service. Using his statistical knowlege, it is very possible you can benefit from the system when looking at the Super Bowl betting lines. Super Bowl betting lines are perhaps the most talked about aspect of the football game before the game begins.

There is always a bunch of hype about Super Bowl betting lines but as long as you have a good system like Morrison’s, you should be able to cut through the noise and make a sensible wager on Super Bowl betting lines as opposed to absurd wagers on weird propositions. It is import to prepare yourself as much as possible before wagering.

This Saturday the Nevada Wolf Pack will take their perfect 3-0 record on the road to take on the BYU Cougars in a MWC vs. WAC showdown. Nevada comes into this game off a very impressive 52-31 win at home last Friday against California, while the Cougars have lost two straight, including a 34-10 loss at Florida State last week. If you are thinking about betting on the game this weekend, the current college football odds have the Wolf Pack favored by 4-points over the Cougars on the road.

Nevada (3-0): The Wolf Pack have came out on fire to start the 2010 season, as the offense is clicking and the defense is playing well enough to win. I was very impressed with how easy it was for the Wolf Pack to move the ball against the Golden Bears last week. Nevada’s offense ranks 4th in the country at 50.7 points per game, and also has the fifth ranked rushing attack in the nation with a 302 yard per game average.

Quarterback Colin Kaepernick put on another incredible performance last week, as the not only threw for 181 yards and two touchdowns, but had a 148 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Kaepernick has been flawless in the first three games of the season, throwing for 728 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions, and has a team best 369 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. Running back Vai Tua also had a nice day against Cal, as he ran for 151 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries. The defense remains a liability for the Wolf Pack, giving up over 500 yards of total offense to the Golden Bears, but if the offense keeps playing like it has, it might not matter.

BYU (1-2): The Cougars are not use to losing, as they have went 43-9 over the last four seasons, but it doesn’t look like they are going to have that same kind of success this season. After beating a pretty good Washington team at home to start the year, the Cougars have been outscored 69-24 in their last two games against Air Force and Florida State.

Last week BYU played Florida State strong for a half, as they only trailed 13-10 going into halftime. But that was it for the offense, as Florida State dominated the second half for an easy 34-10 victory. It looks as though the Cougars are going to have to rely on the arm of freshman quarterback Jake Heaps, as Riley Nelson is expected to miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury. With Nelson out and Heaps struggling to get things going in the passing game, running back J.J. Di Luigi is going to have to be a huge part of the offense. Last week Di Luigi ran for a team best 93 yards and also led the team with three catches for 36 yards.

Looking at the Odds: I think you have to take Nevada to cover the 4-point spread in this game, as they just have more offensive fire power than the Cougars. BYU’s offense should look better against the Wolf Pack defense, but I don’t it will be near enough to keep them in the game, as I don’t think the Cougar’s defense has much of a shot at stopping the Nevada offensive attack. My final score prediction is Nevada 31, BYU 23.

Now is a perfect time to start handicapping football. Sure we are a long way from opening day but there have been many changes to NFL teams everywhere. Now is a good time to look back see which coaches changed teams or just left the game. Players have been traded and their will be teams will completely different styles of play coming this fall.

Before I get started talking about the new coaching changes let me say that in order to consistently win money handicapping football you need to follow a football betting system. Whatever you do this coming season please follow a system based on valid statistics and trends. Do not just bet your favorite teams and bet against the teams you dislike. Alright now let’s talk some about some coaching changes.

Unless you live under a rock you are probably well aware that the Washington Redskins fired Jim Zorn, hired Mike Shanahan and traded for Donovan McNabb. Former Redskin QB Jason Campbell is now an Oakland Raider. This is old news now, some like it, some say doesn’t matter. The one thing is for sure that at the Washington Redskins will get plenty of coverage and are major topic so far of many sports talk shows. Personally, I love this move but what I want to emphasize is since this move has gotten so much media attention we tend to overlook the other coaching changes.

Did you realize that 2 other teams have new coaches as well? Maybe you are aware that the Seattle Seahawks fired Jim Mora replacing him with Pete Carroll from University of Southern California. Most speculated that Carroll would leave college football for the NFL someday so this was not a shocker. It is sad that Jim Mora only got one season as head coach with the Seahawks however the decision to clean house was made as the Seahawks also have a new GM in John Schneider. The life of an NFL coach is not always easy nor is it fair.

The last team to change coaches is the Buffalo Bills. This one you may not be aware of as this is third coach in the last year and you may just not care to follow it anymore. You may recall Dick Jauron was head coach the start of last season. He was fired from that position on November 17, 2009 as the bills were just 3-6 and not looking like a playoff team. Defensive Coordinator Perry Fewell was named interim head coach. The Bills finished the season 6-10. Fewell was replaced with Chan Gailey. Gailey’s last job was offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs. He was dismissed from that position last August just 2 weeks before opening day. Before that he was the head coach at Georgia Tech. where he went 44-33 before being fired in 2007. Before that you probably remember him most as the Dallas Cowboys head coach. He went 18-14 as Cowboys head coach and was fired at the end of the season in 1999. With some of the well know coaching names out there I was surprised to the Bills hire Gailey. Funny, the Bills seem to always hire either unknown coaches or coaches who are at the end of their career. Bill Cowher would have been an awesome move for the Bills, oh well.

There you have it, the coaching changes for the 2010 NFL season. Not that many change’s this off season but all should have great impacts on their prospective teams. I personally like to pay close attention to teams with new coached to see what changes are being made with the roster and assistant coaches. I expect much change for all 3 teams

football betting system

In recent years, sports betting has become very popular due to various reasons, and its popularity seems to be increasing each year. Many people begin betting on sports without fully educating themselves on the fundamentals of money management. It’s very important to understand these fundamentals in order to become a successful sports bettor. The object of sports betting is to win money, and the following article will give you tips on how to properly manage your money.

Money management is by far the most crucial element to ensure long term success in sports betting. If you don’t manage your money properly, then you are definitely setting yourself up for immediate failure. I think you can apply this concept to many other areas of life so it should be taken seriously. Depending on your income level, you first need to determine how much money you can set aside for gambling and this will be your “bankroll.” Never bet more than you are willing or financially able to lose. There are no guarantees or “locks” in sports betting so you have to be comfortable with the fact that you may lose all of your money at some point. In other words, your rent and grocery money should not be used to support your gambling habit.

Next, you need to calculate how much money you want to wager on each game. A good rule of thumb is 2% to 5% of your bankroll with 2% being more conservative and 5% being a little more aggressive. So lets say that your bankroll is $1,000, and you want to wager 3% of your bankroll on each game that you play. If you are okay with this, then you would bet $30 on each game. As you win money or possibly lose money, you want to adjust your wager according to your new bankroll. If you increase your bankroll to $1,500 then you will starting betting $45 ($1,500 x 3%) on each game. On the other hand, if your bankroll shrinks to $500 then you will start betting $15 ($500 x 3%) on each game. I personally recommend that you adjust your wagering amount any time there is a 25% increase or decrease in your bankroll.

At some point in your gambling experience, you will go on a losing streak and this is completely normal. Do not panic and start doubling up your bets in order to recover your losses. Stay the course and decrease your wagering amount if you need to. It’s better to slowly win your money back as opposed to losing big chunks of money on silly bets. You will be tempted to chase your losses, but you’ll realize that it wasn’t such a great idea once you lose all of your money. By making good bets and following these simple tips, you should be on your way to becoming a successful sports bettor.

Football Betting Strategy

There’s an easy betting game to play for football games. Anybody that wants to get in on the betting can and they don’t have to know anything about football. Usually, no more than a quarter is placed for a bet and coins are what is usually used, but you can change the rules.

What is needed:

1 to 4 pieces of paper
A pen or a pencil
People to bet, each needing at least four quarters (or whatever coins are used or they are going to bet)

Preparations:

Very few preparations are needed

Eight rows of 10 or 11 boxes are drawn on the paper or papers. It depends on how you want to set up the sheet. If you are using four papers horizontally, you may want to draw two rows of 10 boxes. If you are using just one piece of paper, you may need to make the boxes closer. However, each box should be able to hold at least one quarter.

In each row of 10 boxes, write the numbers 0 through 9, one number per box.

Write one of the team names above each of the rows or in the 11th box for each row, so there would be four rows that contain “team 1″ and four rows that contain “team 2″

Playing the betting game:

The game takes place during each quarter. It ends at the end of each quarter. A peson places a bet by placing a quarter on the number of the score that they think a team’s score will have at the end of the number. This way, there is no guessing who will win. It is simply a betting game based on numbers.

When the quarter is finished, the person who placed their bet on the correct number for the team’s score gets all the quarters in the row. If only one bet was correct for one team and the other team had no correct bets, the person who bet for the first team gets the quarters from both rows.

However, if there are no correct bets, two things can happen depending on how you play the game.

Option 1:

The quarters stay and then after the next quarter of the football game, anybody that gets the correct ending number gets to take the quarters for their team from that quarter and the previous quarter (once again, all of the quarters if only one bet was correct for one team).

Option 2:

Everybody gets their quarters back and the game starts new with the second quarter of the football game.

Do the same things for the third and fourth quarters of the game. The important part of the game is that you keep it consistant however you play it.

This game can even be played by people who are not interested in the game since all you need is one person watching the game to let others know the final score during each quarter of the game.
